Strong men aren’t born. They’re forged.
Forge Counseling and Leadership for Men
“A place where you can speak honestly, be challenged with compassion, and develop the strength to move forward. Like steel refined in the forge, adversity can become the catalyst for growth, resilience, and lasting transformation.”

Lloyd Dallas Jackson, LCSW, Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work
Life has a way of testing every man through adversity, loss, leadership, relationships, fatherhood, and failure. Those moments don’t have to define you—they can refine you. At Forge Counseling and Leadership, my mission is to help men develop the strength, resilience, wisdom, and character to lead themselves, their families, and their communities with integrity and purpose.

I’m Lloyd Dallas Jackson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, combat Veteran, and mental health professional with more than 25 years of experience in behavioral health, leadership development, and counseling. I began my military career as an enlisted Infantry Soldier before earning a direct commission as an Army officer—a path known in the military as a “Mustang.” That experience gave me a unique perspective on leadership, service, and the challenges faced by those at every level.
I proudly served nearly 25 years in the United States Army, including two combat deployments, and retired in 2018 after serving in multiple leadership positions, including three commands focused on behavioral health. Following my military career, I spent approximately 20 years serving Veterans through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, helping individuals overcome trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions while mentoring clinicians and developing leaders across large healthcare organizations.
-
My passion is working with men—especially Veterans, first responders, executives, professionals, fathers, and emerging leaders. I believe that when men grow stronger emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and relationally, families become healthier, organizations become stronger, and communities flourish. Whether you’re navigating stress, trauma, marriage, parenting, career transitions, leadership challenges, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to help you move forward with confidence and purpose.
-
My counseling approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in proven, evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, motivational interviewing, and leadership coaching. Together, we’ll identify what’s holding you back, develop practical strategies, and build the skills needed to create lasting change.
My philosophy of care is rooted in servant leadership, personal responsibility, resilience, and hope. It has been shaped by my Christian faith, the enduring principles of Stoicism, decades of military service, and years of clinical practice. I believe that while we cannot always control our circumstances, we can choose how we respond—with courage, discipline, integrity, humility, and perseverance. Counseling is more than reducing symptoms; it’s about helping people become who they are capable of becoming.

For clients who desire it, I am comfortable integrating faith and spirituality into the counseling process. For others, I provide evidence-based, client-centered care that fully respects each person’s beliefs, values, and life experiences. My commitment is to meet you where you are, help you discover your strengths, and equip you with the tools to build a meaningful and fulfilling life.
